Project: Renewable Energy Engineering and Design
  • Working with a large Energy company our consultant supported the construction, outages, material evaluation, modeling, route of transmission, and permits to improve the transmission power for Wind Energy. The growth of Renewable Energy created a need to increase the transmission line to bring wind energy into the load centers. During this multi-year project, the contractors are working closely in a team environment with the client to build out the design to improve the power flow to the load centers. The project called for High Voltage Transmission and Substation line experience. The results of the project will increase the use of Wind Energy and decrease the dependence on Fossil Fuels.

Project: Airflow Platform Test System
  • A large Industrial supplies manufacturer required a software solution to operate the Airflow Platform Test System for characterization and calibration of Airflow Sensors. Using Labview to design a system to work in blocks of 12 sensors, with the system being expandable to 48 sensor capacity. The main function of the software is to allow Engineering and Evaluation Labs to: 1) Gather data for the characterization of ASIC based airflow Sensors and 2) Calibrate airflow sensors using the Signal Conditioning ASIC for developmental and low volume production purposes. Each of these functions has to be custom configurable (in terms of airflows, temperatures, and voltages) by the user.
Project: Coal Yard Controls Project
  • Electrical and controls design and drafting for the replacement of a coal yard computer control system in accordance with the qualifications identified. Estimated number of drawings 1,700 and estimated number of wired points 2,500.
Project: PLC Upgrade Project
  • Electrical and controls design and drafting for the replacement of a coal plant PLC system in accordance with the qualifications identified. Estimated number of drawings 5,000 and estimated number of wired points 8,000.
